Acupuncture for Head Problems

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or some other emotional difficulty, Acupuncture treatments decrease anxiety and depression and restore your well-being.

Addictions

Acupuncture can be used to aid in treatment of addiction and to help patients to reduce prescribed medications which are difficult to withdraw from. Acupuncture treatment reduces withdrawal symptoms, aids in relaxation in cases of anxiety, improves sleep, and reduces cravings for drugs. It has been used for withdrawal from drugs of abuse such as heroin and methamphetamine; cigarettes and alcohol; and prescribed medications such as pain medications: oxycodone, percocet, etc, benzodiazapenes: valium, xanax, ativan, antidepressants: effexor, paxil, and others.

Anxiety

From an acupuncture theory model anxiety is the presence of disruptive or heightened tension in the body. A vibratory sense if dis-quiet that does not allow an individual to relax. The state is usually generalized by description but is in fact a condition that is very individualized in diagnosis. In other words there are varied diagnoses for this condition and when addressed specifically can reduce or ameliorate the condition.

While acupuncture is an effective tool in the treatment of the more benign forms of this disorder good diagnosis and case management are imperative for the best outcome and recovery.

Depression

Acupuncture theory models describe 15 individualized diagnoses in depression. In all disorders within this diagnosis in general, physiologic balance is the key and specific approach determines the outcome. Acupuncture can be very effective for less severe forms of the disorder and a very good partner to other forms of therapy and medication approaches.

Insomnia

As with anxiety there are multiple diagnostics associated with insomnia in acupuncture theory. Balance and biologic rhythm/circadian rhythm are at the core of this disorder. The approach to the restoration of balance is key in the attempt to reset the sleep-wake cycle. In the less severe cases restoring normal sleep patterns can occur within weeks. In more severe cases referrals are made to a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner to assist the process through the use of Chinese herbal medicine.

Stress

Stress is a component of all systems. Without it forms and biologies would cease to exist. When stresses are dispersed evenly a healthy system is apparent. Stress complaints occur when the tension in ones muscle system loses balance resulting in complaints of stiff or tightened muscles. The acupuncture is directed to restore normal tone and balance to the muscle system producing ease of rest and movement.
